Heather Coull
Registered Play Therapist™

Biography
Hello, my name is Heather. I am an integrative play therapist. I am passionate about supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people. I have over 15 years of experience as a caseworker and counsellor, and 10 years of experience as a play therapist, all within the not-for-profit sector.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside children, young people, and their families from diverse backgrounds, many of whom were navigating complex challenges. My work is grounded in a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and person-centred approach, honouring each individual’s unique story while supporting their growth, resilience, confidence and meaningful progress toward positive change.
These experiences inspired me to move into private practice, where I continue to provide play therapy for children.
My Approach
I believe that every child has an innate capacity for healing and growth. As an integrative play therapist, I draw on a range of play therapy, counselling and somatic approaches to provide tailored support that meets the unique needs of each child.
I honour each child’s individual journey, offering a safe, non-judgmental space where they can explore, express, and make sense of their experiences at their own pace. My practice is grounded in warmth and respect, and I am passionate about helping children feel truly seen, understood, and empowered, while nurturing the inner strengths that support confidence, emotional awareness, and resilience. Through creative, child-led approaches, children are supported to discover their own capacity for growth and change.
I also work collaboratively with parents and caregivers, recognising their essential role in a child’s emotional well-being. By supporting both the child and their caregivers, I aim to create a consistent, nurturing environment that strengthens connection and supports meaningful, lasting change both in the playroom and at home.
